GERMAN BOOKS
Gernot Candolini, a prolific writer and labyrinth maker from Austria,
should have a category all by himself. Here are some of his books in German.
There is also one in English in the Popular category. Website: www.labyrinthe.at/candolini
Labyrinthe: Ein Praxisbuch sum Malen, Bauen, Tanzen, Spielen, Meditieren
und Feiern
Das Geheimnisvolle Labyrinth: Mythos und Geschichte eines Menschheitssymbols
Im Labyrinth: Aufbruch zur Mitte
Die Faszination der Labyrinthe: Das Praxisbuch
Labyrinthe Landkarten der Seele
Das Labyrinnthe by Ilse Seifried
Ilse and her friends are artists, using the labyrinth as a theme. Look
at the cover photo. It is a classical 7-circuit labyrinth made into a
sphere. As a labyrinth artist myself, I find this book filled with inspiring
ideas, even if I can't read the text. Website: www.das-labyrinth.at
Marianne Ewaldt is an artist whose work includes labyrinth installations
for exhibits or permanently. Here are two books showing her work.
Land Art 2001 (in German, despite the English title)
Vom Geistigen in die Materie
Labyrinthe, by Hermann Hern
This was the original compendium on labyrinths, written in 1982. It has
now been translated into English (see the Reference category). For those
who read German, this is still in print.
